Become A Morning Person

Stop hitting the snooze button on your alarm, and pledge to becoming a morning person. The earlier that you start your day, the more time you have available to achieve daily tasks and chores, as well as the fun stuff.

Set the alarm to go off 30 minutes earlier than usual, and use the extra time to follow a morning ritual that sets you up for the day ahead. Doing some gentle yoga stretches, and practicing meditation, will make you feel calm, centred and ready for anything.

Be Present

It's important to slow down and to live life in the moment. Being mindfully aware of whatever you are doing, instead of multi-tasking, will help to reduce stress that could lead to burnout.

Although you're slowing down the pace of your activities, it doesn't mean that you won't have sufficient time to get chores completed. Being intensely focused enables you to concentrate your efforts so that you have time to spare.

Take time out to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Start by focusing on your five senses in your present surroundings. Push away any random thoughts that attempt to grab your attention, and bask in the present moment. Notice how this experience feels wonderfully intensified because you are fully present.

Plan Ahead

When you have a busy day ahead, and tons of things on your To-Do list, you need to follow up with a plan, schedule or agenda. Knowing how to tackle everything in the most timely and efficient way is key, if you don't want to end up wasting precious hours.

Create a timetable for the day, week or month, and fill it up with priority tasks. Delegate less important stuff to other people, if you can. Or save those jobs until last.

Challenge Yourself

If you're not working to your full capacity during work hours, you're unlikely to accomplish as much as you could if you challenged yourself. Be your own motivator, and create a list of activities that you can add to your timetable to make the work you do everyday more exciting and less monotonous.

Do things that require you to get out of your comfort zone. Take on more responsibilities. Or commit to learning something new. You'll feel a sense of pride when you realise how challenging yourself benefits you.

In your downtime, do things that you love. Spend quality time with your partner, family or friends, and enjoy fun activities and hobbies that enhance your wellbeing.

Practice Self-Care

To get the most out of life, it really does help if you're in the best possible shape. That doesn't that you have to suddenly hit the gym or go on a crash diet. Practicing self-care by taking a healthy interest in yourself will do the job.

Aim to exercise for 150 minutes per week, and eat balanced meals that are packed with vitamins and nutrients that support your body's health. And don't forget to stay well hydrated!

Avoid scrimping on sleep, as getting plenty of zzzzzs is good for preventing disease, boosting immunity, and improving mental health. Between 7 to 9 hours of sleep every night is the recommended amount for the average adult.
